Brief of project

L&T Smart world was awarded the contract for installation of 5 million smart energy meters in the states of UP, Haryana & NDMC by EESL. This project involves 5 million consumer households to be installed with smart energy meter by replacing the old Analog electric meter. Also 5 million consumer data to be verified as part of Consumer Indexing, and subsequent allocation of the consumer data to the multiple Sub contractor agency and in turn to the Field level executive and tracking the field activities of Replacing old meter with new smart meter and getting the timely approvals of Discom & Client is a challenging process

Also, Warehouse Management/logistics of 5 million new smart meters for installation and 5 million old meters to be returned to Discom (Power Distribution Company) also to be taken care of. And there were 5 different Client Software Modules with which the data must be integrated.

Achievements

A cloud-based Project Management tool was developed for handling such a huge amount of data and handling the Multiple parties involved and the integration of data to provide the Project team with Online Real-Time status of Progress.

A powerful Mobile app for the field workforce to digitally capture data both for Consumer Indexing and Meter Installation.

  • Major benefit of implementing the solution is to provide the Real time status of Project progress for the various activity involved at the click of the mouse.
  • The Cloud application helps to import the consumer data and allocate to the Sub Contractor agencies, the Allocation is done as per defined hierarchy of State, Discom, City, Electrical Division and Substation.
  • A powerful Mobile App has been designed to get the data into Mobile as per the Allocation to Field Engineer and do the Consumer Indexing, the Mobile App Features involved: - Search Consumer based on Name/Address/Meter No. for verification and Correction.
  • The Mobile App has the capability to capture data with different types of answering and Capturing Lat Long and Pictures of Meter.
  • Addition of New Consumer whose data was not given by Discom with Mobile App. Reporting the Issues faced by Field engineer like Entry Denied/Address Not Found etc…
  • Option to verify the data captured by L&T Smart World Project Team & SDO of Discom online.
  • The Cloud Application captures data from Mobile App hence it is always the real-time status with various dashboard format, Dashboards for management (Internal / client) has been provided for monitoring the progress.
